Royal Wedding

I’ve never been much of a royal watcher but when you’re a wedding photographer, you can’t help but be intrigued a little bit. I’m reminded of this royal wedding table from the Seascape Beach Resort Bridal show earlier this year.

Pretty white flower arrangements from Seascape Flowers. Silver tea set and silver heart boxes at each place setting.

Gorgeous royal wedding cake with white cameos by Edith Meyer. Too pretty to cut.

The white lace linens and white on white color scheme was so pretty. Texture is the key when designing in monotones. I’m really looking forward to seeing the wedding details from the reception. Although Seascape did a great job with this royal wedding table, I’m sure the reception at Buckingham Palace will be over the top!

In the 10 years that I’ve been in business, I’ve photographed several weddings for British brides. There are two things I’ve  noticed that are a little different from weddings here in the U.S. First, the bride and her father walk down the aisle followed by the bridal party. The other detail I’ve noticed is that right after the couple is officially married a small child hands the bride a horseshoe. I’m guess it has to do with wishing the newlyweds good luck, something I should investigate.

Congratulations Will and Kate! Such a likable couple and oh, so stylish! They are redefining understated elegance, that’s for sure. One can only assume that more brides will follow the trend Lady Kate set with her lace sleeves and simple bouquet with Lily of the Valley flowers. She seems so relaxed and radiant on her wedding day, something I wish for all of my brides (a sign of great planning).
